Finally flying home today and one of the things I am most looking forward to is getting back to basics when it comes to meal planning. Having to cook for one person for almost two weeks time has really changed the way I look at planning my meals. I don’t think I was ever really acutely aware of how much food I wasted. It all became clear to what extent I needed to improve when we emptied the fridge this morning.
This week’s meal plan will mainly consist of meals for which we already have ingredients. I did make a few bigger purchases during my trip to Toronto so I want to compensate by reducing our grocery budget. I also know that we have a lot of food in our stock pile and it’s time to start using it.
