It’s been so hectic this past week, I’m already behind on so many things! The one thing I didn’t want to push back was doing our weekly meal plan so I’ll be sharing that with you today, ever so briefly.
This week, we’re going to visit my mom for a few days, so I am purposely planning less meals than usual. This should in turn mean we are spending less money on food, but our stock pile is getting low, and we have no snacks left, so our grocery list will be a bit bigger than the past few weeks.

Total spending so far this week is $80.28. We still need to buy a red pepper, but despite buying lots of snacks this week, we still managed to stay under budget! However, we will be spending money on food by getting takeout both on the way to Halifax and on the way back home, so we’ll have to take that into account when looking at our budget at the end of the month.
Do you have a set weekly budget for your grocery and your outings? We usually budget $100 per week on food, excluding going out to the restaurant or getting takeout. For social outings like those, we have a monthly budget of $100, which would total $25 per week if we went out every week – which we don’t.
Let us know what you’re meal plan is for this week, or what you’re favourite recipe is so that we can try it out!
